Founded by Joleen Tietz

Joleen's Story

Joleen Tietz was born and raised in California. She spent her early years growing up in the high desert of the Antelope Valley, where she graduated from Lancaster High School in 2000. As a young adult, she relocated to Huntington Beach, California. Joleen made her big move to N. Idaho in 2011. The move marked a new chapter rooted in community, family values, and a desire to build something meaningful.

Today, Joleen brings her California roots and small-town Idaho heart together in her leadership of In Home Care 4u™, combining real-world experience with a deep commitment to serving families with compassion and integrity.

Experience Matters

Joleen's background in caregiving runs deep. Her first professional experience with caregiving came at the age of just 19, when she worked as a bath nurse for a local live-in facility. But it began even before then. She recalls assisting her grandfather with his mom as a child. She shares more in depth on this in the 4u blog article about adult children who don't plan to be caregivers, they stumble into it.

"It is interesting as life goes on," Tietz shares, "How each job, each experience, builds upon the next to make you who you are today."

Tietz has been able to retain skills from each job she's held and marvels how those skills truly build upon each other as she's carried them into each next thing she's done.  "The person I am today wouldn't have happened without each of my prior jobs, relationships, and experiences. You learn, you grow, and you keep building."

Tietz feels lucky to have had many mentors along the way, she feels blessed to still call many of them friends. These professionals have helped to develop her confidence and skills. These skills she now shares with her team and the franchisees who choose to join her as they embark on this incredibly rewarding journey of caring for others. How It All Started - Caregiving For Dad

Small Town Support for Home-Care

Founded by Joleen Teitz, In Home Care 4u was established in October of 2018, in the quaint town of Deary, nestled amongst the breathtaking forests of Northern Idaho. Joleen created this company out of a need to care for her own father, Army Lieutenant Colonel, Michael Wisehart. Michael suffered with MS and needed more assistance than she could provide on her own. Soon after caring for him at his home in Moscow, Idaho, through word of mouth, In Home Care 4u was caring for a small handful of elderly individuals across the Palouse region. From Potlatch to Genesee, Troy clear to Bovill, and even down in Juilaetta and Kendrick too,

we were helping seniors age in place, by-passing the need to move into assisted living facilities.

Just by doing occasional small-town parades, word got out about our services, and we grew from there.   It was apparent immediately, that the need for in home caregiving services was a growing one. Tietz had continued support of her husband, Chris and mom, Kathleen Herriott during the creation of her business.

Expanding into a Caregiving Franchise

The idea to franchise In Home Care 4u happened quite organically.

After the death of her father, in August of 2021, Joleen had some soul searching to do. Keep things going? Pass the torch off to someone else? What would be the fate of this company? Things had evolved. There were now several individuals counting on the company continuing, both clients and caregivers alike.

Joleen entertained a pivotal meeting that changed the course of her company forever. She sat down with a prospective buyer. After just 4 years in business an offer was looming. But the meeting didn't go as Teitz expected it would. She left feeling sick to her stomach. The potential buyers weren't in the least bit interested in even hearing about her systems, operations, and processes. They had no interest in the brand at all. They seemed mostly interested in the amazing staff and existing clients she had. They planned to simply absorb them into their existing model, and In Home Care 4u would cease to exist.

This realization was hard to swallow. So much so, that Joleen left that meeting resolved to ensure that would never happen. In Home Care 4u has powerful systems, processes, and values. We are the caregiving company of the future, and we are not going anywhere but up. If Joleen wasn't going to sell her location, she would find a way to sell her systems and processes and would soon grow far beyond anything she initially set out to do! She would indeed go on to sell her company, but not in the way she initially thought she would.

The moment Joleen resolved to grow, pathways started opening up. Before the year was through, In Home Care 4u had licensing agreements in not only N. Idaho, but Washington and California too. Just like that, a franchise was born from these first 3 locations.

Whether you're looking to franchise with us, you're searching for caregiving tips, or you need care and you are searching for a caregiver near you or location near you, In Home Care 4u is a good place to be.
